IMAP and SMTP settings

It’s important to consider whether you want to use POP3 or IMAP. Here’s a brief explanation:

With IMAP, emails are stored on our servers. This means you always have a backup of your email, you can access your mail from anywhere in the world via webmail, and use multiple devices at the same time. However, the storage space used by your emails does count toward the total storage limit of your hosting package.

With POP3, emails are downloaded and stored on your device (such as your computer). The emails are not stored on our servers. This means that if your device is damaged or, for example, stolen, your emails may be permanently lost. However, this does save space in your hosting package.
