This guide guides you into configuring IPv4 and IPv6 networking for your server. If you installed your VPS with one of our OS templates, you can also let our platform automatically configure IPv4 and IPv6. This can be done by rebooting your VPS through the VPS-Panel in your client area.
Finding the right configuration does require you to do some calculations:
IPv4:
IPv4 Address: Address you got with your VPS (can be found in the VPS-Panel)
IPv4 Subnetmask: /24 (255.255.255.0)
IPv4 Gateway: x.x.x.1 (fill in your IP on the x's)
IPv4 DNS:
1. 185.31.172.240
2. 5.255.125.240
IPv6:
IPv6 Address:
Address you got with your VPS (can be found in the VPS-Panel)
IPv6 Subnetmask: /48
IPv6 Gateway: x:x:x::1 (fill in your IP on the x's)
IPv6 DNS:
1. 2a01:6340:1:20:4::10
2. 2a04:52c0:130:2a5c::10
The description above might be a little confusing, to make things more clear we've created an example. In this example, we use the following addresses:
IPv4: 1.2.3.4
IPv6: 1234:5678:90ab:cdef::1/64
For configuring IPv4, we will use these values:
IPv4 Address: 1.2.3.4
IPv4 Subnetmask: /24 (255.255.255.0)
IPv4 Gateway: 1.2.3.1
IPv4 DNS:
1. 185.31.172.240
2. 5.255.125.240
For configuring IPv6, we will use these values:
IPv6 Address: 1234:5678:90ab:cdef::1/64
IPv6 Subnetmask: /48
IPv6 Gateway: 1234:5678:90ab::1
IPv6 DNS:
1. 2a01:6340:1:20:4::10
2. 2a04:52c0:130:2a5c::10
Note:
The LiteServer DNS resolvers are only accessible via servers that are hosted within the LiteServer network.
